BLOG 001 About Me :)

My boyfriend suggested I start a blog on my own website, but after some thought, I realised that as a photographer, if I were to document, it should be more of a Plog (photo's blog) right? :)

Upon further reflection, it is indeed an interesting suggestion. I do have a habit of recording daily life, but I prefer the tactile experience of handwriting and flipping through pages. If a diary is a private record, then a plog is a public glimpse into daily life, albeit somewhat filtered... but I will strive to share openly about everything concerning me!

I often ponder, what should I share to make it interesting for everyone to view? I'm not the most talented photographer or a stunning beauty, and my life is quite ordinary. Will people really be interested in how a stranger lives? Is this kind of sharing valuable? My boyfriend also suggested having someone else manage it, but I immediately declined... it's my own website, and I want to be in charge of everything from the font size to the overall direction. I see this website as an extension of myself.

So when you visit the website, you'll be greeted by a series of different shades of beige, milk tea, and coffee, extending into Earth Tones, which are my favourite colour palette. As you scroll past some of my photos, towards the bottom, you'll see two floating stones. In reality, my house is filled with stones as I can't resist collecting them whenever I pass by a beach, it's true love :P

I think for the first post, I'll introduce myself a bit.

I was born in 1995, and most people in real life would think I'm a university student, probably because I'm too short (155cm lol). That's my flaw, and I've always been self-conscious about my lack of height, lacking the presence, no one would feel threatened even if I'm angry... 🌚 And I'm almost 30, being mistaken for a student feels a bit strange.

Moreover, it doesn't benefit me at work at all. Wherever I go, people just assume I'm doing a summer job, the first impression is: seems unreliable... The only consolation is that when people see the results of my photography, their perception changes... not sure if that's a good thing, some kind-hearted seniors treat you like a child, and if I go to shoot food, I usually come back with a full load 🌞

If you were to ask me when I started getting into photography, it goes back to my high school days. In secondary school, everyone would choose a club they liked to join, and I chose the "school TV station," where I learned about filming and interviewing for production. This gradually nurtured my interest in photography. In university, I studied journalism, thinking I would become an excellent reporter. However, by the time I graduated, Hong Kong had lost its press freedom, so I left Hong Kong and settled in the UK, becoming a photographer, which is who I am now.

男友提議我在自己的網站上打blog，但我想了想，我是攝影師，若真要記錄，我也應該是打Plog （photo’s blog)吧：）

如此想想也實在是一個有趣的提議，平時我也有記錄日常生活的習慣，但我更傾向於手寫及可以翻揭的真實觸感。若日記是私密的記錄，那麼plog便是公開的日常，多少都會有些過濾⋯⋯但我會盡量坦誠分享有關我的一切！

我常在思考，到底要分享些甚麼才會讓大家有興趣觀看呢？我不是最厲害的攝影師也不是一等一的大美女，生活也很平凡，大家真的會想知道一個陌生人過得如何嗎？這樣的分享有價值嗎？男朋友也有提議過可以請別人來經營，可我一開口就拒絕了⋯⋯我自己的網站，我想由自己來經營，小至字體，大至發展方向，我都想一一參與，我想這個網站是我個人的延伸。

因此你會一點進來網站，就會看到一系列深淺不同的米色、奶茶色和咖啡色，以及延伸下去的Earth Tone，這些都是我最愛的色調。路過一些我拍的照片後往最底下看，有兩顆飄浮的石頭，現實中我擺得滿屋都是石頭，每次經過沙灘我都忍不住去收集一些戰利品，是真愛：P

我想第一篇，就介紹一下我這個人吧。

我生於1995年，現實中大部分人都會以為我是大學生，我想因為我長得太矮了（155cm lol)，這是我的硬傷，也一直介懷自己的身高沒有氣勢，就算生氣也沒人會感受到威脅⋯⋯🌚而且我已經快30歲了，被當作學生還是有點奇怪的感覺。

而且這在工作上沒有一點好處，去到哪大家都只會以為你在做暑期工，第一印象就是：好像不太靠譜⋯⋯唯一慶幸的是大家看到拍攝成果時都會改觀⋯⋯也不知道是不是好事，有些好心的長輩會當你小孩般對待，如果我去拍攝食物，通常都會滿載而歸🌞

若要問起我從何時開始接觸攝影，那就要從中學時期講起，初中時大家都會去選自己喜歡的學會參加，而我選的是「校園電視台」，學習的是拍攝和訪問等製作，漸漸培養了對攝影的興趣，到大學修讀的則是新聞系，那時候我以為自己會成為一名出色的記者。但，到我畢業時，香港就失去新聞自由，我便離開了香港來到英國定居，成為了一名攝影師，那就是現在的我。
